A ZX Spectrum computer is programmed to count from one to a number with 80000 nines (approximately 9.99999E80000 in scientific notation).
This is courageous for an old computer! The counting operation fills all its available 48 Kb memory and will take an abyssal amount of time. Will the goal ever be attained - will the computer run for long enough?
Upon reaching this target of 80000 nines, the software will clear the screen and enter an infinite loop.
The ZX Spectrum computer (launched in 1982) is here simulated in the JSSpeccy emulator.
